Cursus Internationale Veiligheid

On the 23 of March, Pax Ludens is contributing with a one-day conflict simulation to Clingendael's course on International Security (6 - 9 March & 20 - 23 March, 2011). This course provides participants (civil servants and policy-makers) in-depth knowledge about current international security issues. For more information click here

Greater Middle East Simulation

In the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of April, Pax Ludens will hold its annual Greater Middle East simulation. This simulation is part of Pax Ludens' UCU "Globalism, Terrorism and the Arab-Israeli Conflict" course. The course is taught by two of our expert trainers: Dr. Martijn de Koning and Annemarie van Geel, MPhil. During this simulation approximately thirty to forty undergraduate students assume the role of statesmen and experience the intricacies of the Greater Middle East.

The Netherlands in the World: scenario planning & strategy design

13 June 2012 | Clingendael, Institute | admission fee €1050

From the 13th to the 16th of June, 2012, the Pax Ludens Foundation and Clingendael will run the workshop "The Netherlands in the World." This workshop provides participants with a practical experience in policy development based on the analysis of possible future events and their outcomes. The training gives participants an insight into the future of the Netherlands and possible developments they are likely to face in their day-to-day work.

Course participants can expect to:

  • Gain insight into important trends and future developments regarding the Netherlands and their organisation
  • Learn scenario-thinking and planning
  • Apply their analytical skills
  • Develop strategic plans and robust strategies
  • Recognize socio-political developments and their strategic implications
  • Learn how to deal with the complexity of multi-stakeholder environments
