About Us

About us

Pax Ludens is a non-profit organisation that has been providing training programmes, workshops and advice to several institutions since 2005. The Foundation has the distinct mission to support decision-makers with their daily issues in various contexts. Our assumption is that learning is done the most effectively by 'experiential learning', or in Confucian's words: "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."

Experiential learning is at the basis of our learning experiences, that are often received as refreshing, energizing and effective. We are best known by our "simulation exercises" which challenge participants to "become" one of the stakeholders in a certain political arena, explore their roles and those of others, and try to deal with conflict situations and organisational processes as events continue to unfold. The political arena in which participants function is monitored by our experts from all over the world, so that plausibility is kept at a high level.

Over the years we have developed several other formats that challenge conventional ways of enhancing skills, knowledge improvement or behavioural change:

  • Serious games for various themes;
  • Scenario planning workshops;
  • Strategy development workshops;
  • Logical Framework analysis workshops (LFAs);

Besides these standing formats, we also provide clients with (policy) advice and tailor-made programmes. Find out more about our upcoming activities here, or take a look at a further description of the tools we use here.

Approach

Our most important concern is that our clients receive the thorough learning experience that they yearn for. Read more about our approach here.
